Kendall Steven Chinn: October 19, 1962 - July 16, 2020, Edmonton's beloved hardcore trailblazer Mr Chi Pig, the frontman of the legendary band SNFU, is leaving behind a legacy of chaos, energy and brilliance that will assuredly never be witnessed again. Chi symbolizes many social challenges; he was openly gay and suffered from racial and sexual discrimination for most of his life; at times, he combatted poverty, drug addictions, homelessness and mental health. Yet, he continued to be one of the most prolific, lively and downright acrobatic musical performers for forty years. His impact on the genre is inarguable. Lacey Jane and I, with the aid of our lovely youth mentee Hanna Mcmillan, gratefully undertook this tribute to honour this exceptional idol, supported financially by the Edmonton Arts Council and the over $10,000 donated by loving fans.
"I left pieces of my heart right here, at the feet of Mr Chi Pig. Like a secret pilgrimage to the Chi Pig Mural, we went, and it was a monumentally emotional deliberation." - Biff Naked
